In the signing of the cooperation agreement with MH Thamrin University in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/28/2025), BNN Main Secretary Tantan Sulistyana said that the educational environment, especially universities, is a strategic place in forming the character, moral values, and critical thinking patterns of the younger generation.
"We express our highest appreciation and gratitude to MH Thamrin University which is ready to support BNN's steps and efforts in overcoming drugs problems and participating in efforts to save the generation of the Indonesian nation from the dangers of narcotics abuse," said Tantan, as quoted from Antaranews, Tuesday (6/3/2025).
He hopes that cooperation with MH Thamrin University can encourage the next generation of the nation throughout Indonesia, especially those who are currently studying at MH University. Thamrin, to be immune to the abuse and illicit trafficking of narcotics and narcotic precursors.
He said that students, as part of the productive age group, are in a phase of searching for identity that is vulnerable to various negative influences, including drug abuse.
It was stated that this condition makes universities have a great responsibility in protecting students from this threat.
Therefore, he said, the active involvement of universities in efforts to prevent and eradicate narcotics is no longer just a choice, but a necessity based on moral, social, and institutional responsibility.
The cooperation is carried out in the context of Prevention and Eradication of Abuse and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics and Narcotics Precursors (P4GN) Through the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
The agreement includes education, socialization, and involvement of the academic community through educational activities, research, studies, and publications, with the aim of supporting the development of science, innovation, technology, and health services in the field of narcotics and narcotics precursors.
