inp.polri.go.id - Surabaya. The Lamongan Sub-regional Police is investigating a Facebook group titled "Gay Tuban Lamongan Bojonegoro" which has surfaced in public and become a widespread discussion.

Lamongan Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Agus Dwi Suryanto confirmed on Tuesday (6/3/2025) that his party was investigating reports regarding the existence of the group.

"We are following up and conducting an investigation. We cannot convey the results yet," said Agus.

The group is known to have more than 10,000 members and is closed. To join, users must obtain approval from the group admin.

According to him, the existence of the group could be quickly known widely because of the sharing feature on social media which allows content to spread in a short time.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Lamongan Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit of Police Senior Inspector Rizky Akbar Kurniadi added that the investigation is still ongoing and cannot be opened to the public regarding technical details.

He also appealed to the public to help the police in collecting relevant information.

"If the public has information related to this, please let us know," said Rizky.

From the results of the initial investigation, the group has been active for about three years. This group is said to be a place for members to communicate and meet, utilizing features provided by the Facebook platform.

Initial information about the existence of the group was uploaded by an Instagram social media account that highlighted the use of anonymous features by its members.
