inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps revealed a decrease in the number of fatalities in traffic accidents during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday.
"Traffic accidents decreased by 5.75%," explained the Head of INP Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, on Thursday (3/26/2026).
Agus explained that the decrease was due to public compliance with traffic regulations. In fact, the fatality rate for accident victims also decreased this year.
"Traffic accidents decreased by 30.89%, with fatalities dropping by 30.89%," said Agus.
He added that the decrease in fatalities and accident victims was also due to innovations at security posts implemented during Operation Ketupat 2026. He also attributed the decrease to extensive public awareness campaigns and warnings.
