Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesia National Police (INP)’s counterterrorism unit Densus 88 has arrested two suspected terrorists in Banda Aceh, including a 47-year-old civil servant believed to be involved in financing terror group activities.
“The suspect, identified as ZA, allegedly managed funds used to support the logistics and operations of the group,” said Densus 88 spokesperson Superintendent Mayndra Eka Wardhana, Tuesday (5/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The second suspect, identified as M (40), is accused of being a senior recruiter in the network. Police seized a laptop, phones, flash drives, and a machete allegedly used in paramilitary training.
Both suspects are under intensive interrogation. The arrests stem from ongoing operations against domestic terror networks. Suspect ZA was identified as a staff member at Banda Aceh’s Tourism Office, while suspect M is employed at the provincial Religious Affairs Ministry.
Densus 88 affirmed its continued commitment to dismantling radical networks nationwide.
