Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh.  The Commander of Iskandar Muda Military Region, Major General Joko Hadi Susilo, has ordered village supervisory officers (Babinsa) to oversee the implementation of the government’s Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program in Aceh.

The move came after a series of mass food poisoning incidents that shook public trust in the nationwide scheme.

“I instructed all Babinsa to directly monitor healthy kitchens in their assigned areas. Every step, from cooking and serving to food distribution, must follow health standards. Negligence cannot be allowed, as it risks our children’s safety,” he said on Monday (29/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

The MBG program, launched in January 2025 under President Prabowo Subianto, targets students from preschool to high school, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. Commander Joko Hadi emphasized that Babinsa should act not only as supervisors but also as community partners, providing education on food hygiene to strengthen public confidence in the program.
