Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. The Aceh Regional Police Traffic Directorate is scheduled to implement traffic rerouting around Harapan Bangsa Stadium in Banda Aceh, the venue for the opening ceremony of the National Sports Week (PON) XXI Aceh-North Sumatra 2024.

Aceh Traffic Director Senior Superintendent Muhammad Iqbal Alqudusy said on Sunday (8/9/2024) that the event, scheduled for Monday evening, will be attended by President Joko Widodo and President-elect Prabowo Subianto.

Traffic control measures will be in place from 2 pm to 11 pm on Monday, or until the ceremony concludes, according to antaranews.com.

Key rerouting areas include Sultan Malikul Saleh Road, Lhong Raya Mosque, Lhong Raya Intersection, and Soekarno Hatta Road in Aceh Besar. Other roads, such as Wedana and Tgk Di Lhong II, will be made one-way, while traffic on Keuchik Amin and Tanggul Bridge will be redirected to AMD Road in Batoh.

"We apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope for the community's support to ensure the success of PON 2024," said Chief Iqbal.
