Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Attorney General's Office has approved the application for restorative justice in a narcotics abuse case in Surakarta, Central Java.

AGO’s Junior Attorney Gneneral for General Crimes (Jampidum), Asep Nana Mulyana, announced on Tuesday (17/9/2024) that the case of Hany Setiyawan, also known as Gusdur bin Mulyadi, from the Surakarta District Prosecutor's Office, will be resolved through restorative justice, according to antaranews.com..

Several considerations led to the approval of the request, including forensic lab results confirming the suspect’s narcotics use. Investigations showed that Hany was not involved in drug trafficking networks and was the final user.

The integrated assessment classified the suspect as a narcotics addict or victim of abuse. He had not undergone rehabilitation more than twice and had no criminal involvement as a producer, dealer, or courier.

Asep instructed the local prosecutor to issue an official decree under the Attorney General’s guidelines to resolve the case through rehabilitation rather than imprisonment.
