Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Ahmad Muzani of the Gerindra Party was appointed as Chairmaan of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), replacing Bambang Soesatyo. Muzani previously served as Deputy Chairman of the MPR during the 2019-2024 term.

He and the new MPR leaders for the 2024-2029 period were officially sworn in by Chief Justice Muhammad Syarifuddin on Thursday (3/10/2024)in a ceremony at the Nusantara Building, Jakarta.

The oath-taking ceremony was conducted during the MPR's Plenary Session, with each leader pledging according to their religion, as guided by Chief Justice Syarifuddin.

The session was attended by House Speaker Puan Maharani, DPR Deputy Speakers, and DPD Chairman Sultan B Najamudin. Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Land Agency Head Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, who is also the Chairman of the Democratic Party, was present.

The MPR leadership consists of nine members, namely  Abcandra Muhammad Akbar Supratman from the Regional Representative Council (DPD)  Bambang Wuryanto from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), Kahar Muzakar from Golkar Party, Rusdi Hidayat from the National Awakening Party (PKB), Hidayat Nur Wahid from the Prosperous Justice (PKS),  Eddy Soeparno from the National Mandate Party (PAN), Lestari Moerdijat from the National Democratic (NasDem) Party and Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono from  Democratic Party.
