Inp.polri.go.id - Labuan Bajo. The Chief of Indonesian National Police (INP) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, stated that all identified threats and vulnerabilities related to the security operations of the ASEAN Summit have been successfully mitigated.
"We are thankful that, thus far, several potential threats have been identified and effectively dealt with through thorough discussions," he said in an official statement on Thursday (11/5/23).
However, he added, the most formidable challenge faced during the operation has been the management of heavy traffic congestion, which necessitates the implementation of traffic engineering measures.
"We expressed our gratitude to the public for their unwavering support. Despite the route changes, they have demonstrated exceptional understanding, enabling us to prioritize the punctual arrival of Heads of State and delegates," he said.
He said that every aspect of the ASEAN Summit, commencing with the welcoming of President Joko Widodo and heads of state and their delegates, has been proceeding seamlessly until midday today.
"We, the INP and the Indonesian Military, will continue our joint efforts in the field, with hopes of achieving optimal outcomes. May this event proceed safely and smoothly, contributing strategic decisions and benefits, particularly for ASEAN countries," he concluded.
