Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Badminton player Alwi Farhan made it to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Thailand Masters after defeating second-seeded Ng Ka Long Angus of Hong Kong in a challenging match on Thursday (30/1/2025).

He triumphed 21-8, 16-21, 21-12 at Nimibutr Stadium in a match that went to three games.

“I’m thankful for this victory, supported by my coach, psychologist, and family,” said Alwi in a statement published by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PP PBSI), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The 2023 Junior World Champion credited his success to learning from past defeats, especially against Ng in the Macau Open and the Indonesia Masters last week.

Alwi will face Ireland’s Nhat Nguyen next, aiming for another win.
