Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Bali Regional Police are hunting down a gang of Russian citizens accused of robbing a Ukrainian man of cryptocurrency worth Rp 3.4 billion.

“The case is under investigation by the Bali Police Criminal Investigation Unit,” said Bali Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Ariasandy on Thursday (30/1/2025).

The robbery, which went viral on social media, took place on 15 December 2024. The victim, identified as II, accompanied by his driver, was driving a white BMW on Jalan Tundun Penyu Dipal, South Kuta, when two cars suddenly blocked their path. Four masked men armed with knives, hammers, and pistols then forced the victim and driver into one of the cars and drove them to a villa in South Kuta.

At the villa, the suspects assaulted the victim, demanding the transfer of cryptocurrency from his Binance account. The victim suffered injuries and lost around Rp 3.4 billion in digital assets
