inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. An elderly man with the initials Y (71) was found dead while riding public transportation in the South Mangga Dua area, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta last Saturday (12/7/2024).

The Head of Metro Jaya Regional Police Public Relations Division, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi says that the man was taking a public transportation to go to Pasar Baru.

"When he arrived in front of the Mangga Besar gas station, the victim went unconscious and leaned on the witness' shoulder," said Ade Ary Syam Indradi on Sunday (12/8/24).

Seeing the man went unconscious, the witness immediately brought the man to the nearest hospital for immediate treatment.

“However, upon checking, the man has already passed away,” says Ade.

From the police initial investigation, there are no signs of abuse on the body of the man. 

According to him, the victim is suspected of dying from illness. This case was reported to the Sawah Besar Sector Police.
