"The target for seeding is Bogor Regency, using 800 kilograms of Calcium Oxide (CaO) as seeding material," said Isnawa Adji, Head of the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), as reported by Antaranews, Friday (1/23/2026).

In his statement, he stated that the flight took place at around 9:15 a.m. Officers carrying out the OMC targeted the skies over Bogor Regency.

Isnawa Adji stated that the OMC is still ongoing, given the BMKG forecast for continued rain in Jakarta and its surrounding areas.

"The OMC team has analyzed everything, and this is being done to accelerate the growth of rain clouds," he explained.

Previously, the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) issued an early warning regarding the potential for heavy to very heavy rainfall in the Jakarta area until January 24, 2026.

The potential for very heavy to extreme rainfall is predicted to occur on January 22-23, 2026, with heavy to very heavy rainfall expected on January 24, 2026.

He stated that these weather conditions have the potential to cause hydrometeorological impacts, such as inundation and flooding in several areas of Jakarta.

Furthermore, he urged the people of Jakarta to increase their vigilance and preparedness during this period, especially those living in flood-prone areas and areas with limited drainage systems.
