inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Mobile Brigade Unit of the North Sumatra Regional Police is accelerating the construction of temporary housing in South Tapanuli Regency.

"Construction of the temporary housing has now begun, with construction on four units of subdivision houses on approximately two hectares of land underway," said Vice Commander Battalyon C of the North Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade Unit, Superintendent Sarijo, Friday (1/23, 2026).

He explained that the involvement of the Mobile Brigade unit and the Indonesian National Military (TNI) aims not only to expedite the construction process but also to ensure that all stages are carried out safely, orderly, and meet the needs of the post-disaster community in the region.

Sarijo further emphasized that cross-sector synergy is crucial for a faster and more sustainable transition from the emergency period to post-disaster recovery.

"The temporary housing is expected to provide a comfortable, temporary solution while awaiting the completion of permanent housing for long-term residences," said Sarijo.

The North Sumatra Regional Police Mobile Brigade has been actively involved from the initial stages of temporary housing construction, from land preparation to the construction of temporary housing for residents affected by floods and landslides in the area.

"This is part of our commitment to helping disaster-affected communities quickly find decent and safe housing," said Sarijo.

He added that the permanent housing land adjacent to the temporary housing area is still being leveled using a bulldozer as part of preparations for the permanent housing construction.
