Inp.polri.go.id - Manokwari. A soldier from Indonesian Army Infantry Battalion 410/Alugoro was killed in an armed assault by the West Papua National Liberation Army/Free Papua Organization (TPNPB/OPM) in North Moskona District, Teluk Bintuni, on Saturday.

“An attack and gunfire were carried out by the armed group led by Demi Moss from the TPNPB/OPM’s Sorong Raya command. One weapon belonging to the fallen soldier was also seized,” said Lieutenant Colonel J. Daniel P. Manalu, the spokesperson for the Kasuar Military, on Sunday (12/10/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The victim, identified as Senior Private Amin Nurohman, was on community outreach duty with fellow soldiers when the attack occurred around 1.30 pm local time in Moyeba Village.

The military confirmed ongoing security operations and coordination with local authorities to stabilize the area. The soldier’s body is being evacuated to his hometown in Kebumen, Central Java. 

The ArmyI vowed to “pursue and capture those responsible for the shooting.
