Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police deployed 1,722 joint officers to secure a peaceful demonstration titled “Solidarity of Indonesian Youth for Palestine” held at the National Monument (Monas) square on Sunday morning (12/10/2025).
“All personnel have been instructed not to carry firearms while on duty,” said Central Jakarta Police Chief Senior Superintendent Susatyo Purnomo Condro, adding that the rally remained peaceful and orderly.
The officers were drawn from Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Central Jakarta Police, and nearby police offices. Thousands of protesters, many dressed in white and waving Palestinian flags, gathered in the Patung Kuda area to express solidarity with Gaza amid reports of a ceasefire.
Traffic control and health posts were prepared for participants, while parking zones were designated around Monas to avoid congestion. Police also urged the public to use alternative routes.
“We continue to monitor the situation closely and maintain a safe, peaceful atmosphere,” Chief Susatyo said, as quoted by antaranews.ocm
