inp.polri.go.id - Agam. The Search and Rescue Team (SAR) of the 2nd Regiment of the Pioneer Troops of the West Sumatra Regional Police continues its efforts to assist communities affected by the floods in West Sumatra. 

On Friday (1/9/2026), the team conducted a search for victims and distributed humanitarian aid in Palembayan District, Agam Regency.

In the relief effort, personnel carried out supporting activities, such as cooking for personnel and affected communities in the Randurlap area.

In addition, the SAR Team also dropped logistical aid from Unggun Village to Kayu Pasak 36 Public Elementary School in Palembayan District. The aid was then distributed directly to flood-affected communities in Unggun Village to meet the community's basic needs during the emergency.

The Head of Public Informations of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Public Relations Division, Senior Superintendent Erdi A. Chaniago, stated that the presence of police personnel at the disaster site demonstrates their commitment to carrying out humanitarian duties.

"We, through our personnel in the field, continue to strive to assist communities affected by the disaster, including through victim search, distribution of logistical aid, and other support. This demonstrates the state's presence to ensure the community receives the protection and assistance it needs," said Erdi A. Chaniago.

He added that in addition to focusing on humanitarian aspects, the presence of police personnel also aims to maintain a safe and conducive situation during the disaster management process.

"Cooperation from all parties are key to accelerating disaster management and community recovery," he concluded.
