inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Social Affairs confirmed that disaster victims in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra will receive multi-layered financial assistance from the government, including compensation and economic recovery support.
The Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf, stated that financial assistance in the form of compensation for deceased victims will be distributed to the heirs of victims of the disaster, amounting to IDR 15 million, while those with serious injuries will receive IDR 5 million.
In addition to compensation, the Ministry of Social Affairs is also distributing housing assistance worth IDR 3 million per family. This assistance is intended for disaster victims living in temporary housing, permanent housing, rental housing, or those returning to their homes to meet basic household needs, such as kitchen equipment and necessary furniture.
As part of economic recovery, the government, through the Ministry of Social Affairs, will also provide empowerment assistance worth IDR 5 million per family, distributed once after a needs assessment is completed.
The Minister of Social Affairs is also preparing food assistance in the form of support for the purchase of side dishes worth IDR 450,000 per person per month for three months, adjusted according to the number of family members.
"For example, Rp 450,000 per family, with four people, so if you multiply that, how much does that equal? Rp 1.8 million, and that's distributed over three months," said the Minister of Social Affairs on Friday (1/9/2026).
According to the Minister, all of the aid funds are part of post-emergency support to ensure that social and economic recovery for disaster-affected communities in Sumatra is fair, targeted, and sustainable.
"Once again, it's already underway, the process is underway. It's not finished yet, but the aid scheme has been prepared and will be distributed in stages as soon as the data is complete," said Minister Saifullah
