Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Attorney General’s Office has summoned six rice producers as part of a corruption probe into alleged manipulation of rice quality and pricing standards, following President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to crack down on rice adulteration practices.
“The Special Task Force for Handling Corruption Cases has launched an investigation into suspected deviations in rice quality and retail pricing from the national standards and government-set price ceilings,” said the Attorney General’s spokesperson. The six companies include PT Wilmar Padi Indonesia, PT Food Station, PT Belitang Panen Raya, PT Unifood Candi Indonesia, PT Subur Jaya Indotama, and PT Sentosa Utama Lestari (Japfa Group).
The Attorney General’s Office is coordinating with the Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Food Task Force to avoid overlap in enforcement actions. The move follows President Prabowo’s remarks on Monday ordering strict action against fraudulent rice practices harming public welfare.
