Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Bali Regional Police have officially named six foreign citizens as suspects in the high-profile kidnapping of 28-year-old Ukrainian citizen Ihor Komarav.

The breakthrough followed the arrest of an accomplice, identified as CH, who was intercepted while attempting to flee to West Nusa Tenggara. Authorities tracked the group using GPS data, CCTV analysis, and forensic DNA matching of bloodstains found at a secluded villa in Tabanan.

"We initially detained him for renting getaway vehicles using a false passport, and subsequent developments led to the charging of six others, idneitifed as RM, BK, AS, VN, SM, and DH," said Senior Superintendent Ariasandy, the Bali Police Head of Public Relations, on Friday (27/2/2026).

Komarav was abducted in Jimbaran on February 15 while practicing motorcycling with friends. Investigators discovered that the suspects used a rented Toyota Avanza to transport the victim to a villa, where he was forced to record a live-streamed ransom plea. Forensic tests confirmed that blood found in the vehicle matched traces at the villa.

All seven suspects are currently in custody as police probe the specific motives behind the coordinated abduction.
