Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar.  The Bali Regional Police have mobilized 1,025 officers for Operation Zebra Agung 2024 to enhance road safety before the presidential inauguration and regional elections from October 14 to October 27.

This year’s operation targets key violations, including riding without helmets, driving against traffic, underage driving, using phones while driving, driving under the influence, and carrying excessive loads, according to antaranews.com.

Bali Police Deputy Chief Brigadier General Komang Sandi Arsana hoped that this initiative will reduce traffic violations and accidents compared to previous years.

"We aim to lower the number of traffic offenses and accidents,” he said.

To support the operation, the police will focus on educational and persuasive efforts, along with electronic law enforcement, both stationary and mobile.

Separately, Denpasar Sub-regional Police Chief Senior Superintendent Wisnu Prabowo emphasized the importance of traffic compliance and awareness among road users to address violations, congestion, and accidents.

With 6,420 traffic accidents reported by September 2024, including 470 fatalities, this is seen crucial for improving Bali’s safety and tourism image.
