Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Bali Regional Police have named six foreigners as suspects in the brutal kidnapping and suspected murder of 28-year-old Ukrainian citizen Ihor Komarav.

"All suspects are foreign nationals who may hold two or even three different passports," Senior Superintendent Ariasandy, the Bali Police Head of Public Relations, said on Friday (6/3/2026).

He  revealed that the perpetrators, identified as RM, VK, AS, VN, SM, and DH, allegedly used multiple passports to enter Indonesia, complicating the verification of their primary citizenships.

The investigation reached a grim breakthrough following forensic DNA testing on remains discovered at Ketewel Beach, Gianyar. Lab results confirmed a 99.99% match between the recovered remains, bloodstains found at a villa in Tabanan and a rental car, and the victim's mother. Komarav was initially reported abducted on 15 February 2026 while motorcycling in Jimbaran. His captors later released a livestream from a villa demanding a ransom.

Currently, Bali Police are coordinating with the Indonesian National Police (INP)’s International Relations Division to issue Interpol Red Notices. While two suspects are believed to still be within Indonesia, four others have been tracked exiting the country. Authorities are now focusing on the network that provided vehicles and logistical support to the kidnapping cell.
