inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian House of Representatives Member Bambang Soesatyo encouraged the Indonesian National Police (INP) to become a more professional, modern, adaptive, and responsive institution in commemoration of the 80th Bhayangkara Day on July 1, 2026.

He stated that INP's eight-decade anniversary should be used as momentum to accelerate the transformation of INP into a better institution.

"This momentum must be used to accelerate the transformation of the Precision Police, making them more professional, modern, humane, and adaptive to technological developments, while simultaneously gaining greater public trust. Public trust is the primary foundation for law enforcement and maintaining national stability," said DPR RI Member Bamsoet on Friday (7/3/2026).

He explained that national security challenges are increasingly complex with the rapid development of digital technology.

Cybercrime methods are evolving rapidly, ranging from data breaches, online investment fraud, online gambling, digital identity theft, to the use of artificial intelligence to create fake content or deepfakes that have the potential to trigger social unrest.

According to him, this situation requires INP to strengthen its digital forensic capabilities, improve the quality of its human resources, expand international cooperation, and accelerate the integration of technology into the law enforcement system.

"The transformation of INP must go hand in hand with the transformation of society. As crimes exploit advanced technology, law enforcement officers must also have more advanced capabilities, equipment, and systems to provide maximum protection to the public," explained Indonesian House of Representatives Member Bamsoet.

He also emphasized that national security stability is directly linked to national economic growth.
