inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago asked the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (INP) to strengthen their unity in safeguarding the sovereignty of Indonesia's border regions while reviewing troops in Natuna, Riau Islands.

"You are here to safeguard our sovereignty. All elements of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Police must be united. The country awaits the results of your work here," said Djamari on Friday (7/3/2026).

According to Chaniago, unity between the TNI and INP is a key asset in safeguarding national sovereignty, especially in border regions that pose strategic challenges.

He stated that strong synergy will make regional security more effective and coordinated, and prevent overlapping tasks in the field.

In addition to strengthening solidarity, Djamari requested that all personnel continue to improve their combat capabilities through continuous training. He believes training is a crucial part of maintaining soldiers' skill to face various potential threats in border regions.

"Remember, soldiers, if not in war, are training. It's impossible for a soldier to perform their duties without training. Therefore, continue training, improve your skills, and prepare yourself to face every possible challenge," said Djamari.

He believes that inter-institutional solidarity, supported by personnel readiness through training, will further strengthen the capabilities of TNI and INP in safeguarding Indonesia's territorial sovereignty.

"Your task is not an easy one, unlike tasks in other regions. The country awaits the results of your work here," said the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs.
