Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. The Bandung Regency administration declared an emergency status following the 5.0 magnitude earthquake that struck the area on Wednesday (18/9/2024) at 9.41 am, damaging 491 homes. 

Regent Dadang Supriatna said that the status was implemented to expedite aid distribution, using the Emergency Fund (BTT).

A joint meeting with local authorities was held to formalize the emergency status, which will remain in effect for two weeks, from 18 September  to 2 October  2024. 

"This allows us to allocate the necessary budget for disaster relief," said Dadang, as quoted by antaranews.com..

Six villages were severely impacted, and evacuation efforts have begun. Residents in Kertasari are advised to move to designated evacuation centers. The West Java Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported 82 injuries, including 23 serious cases. No fatalities have been reported.

Victims with severe injuries have been taken to Bedas Kertasari Hospital and local health centers for treatment.
