The Senior Superintendent Manang Soebeti, the Riau Police Director of Narcotics, said on Wednesday (18/9/2024) that the first arrest took place at a food stall in Pekanbaru, where suspects MAM and ZS were caught delivering drugs from North Sumatra.
Following investigations, police seized 30 large packages of meth and two bags of ecstasy pills. Another suspect, MS, was later arrested in a hotel room. The drugs were destined for distribution in Lubuk Linggau, South Sumatra, according to antaranews.com..
In a separate case, security at Sultan Syarif Kasim Airport foiled an attempt to smuggle 1 kg of meth concealed in luggage bound for East Lombok.
The officers discovered four suspicious bags near Rokan River in Rokan Hilir, leading to the capture of suspect K, who was attempting to flee to Jambi.
Authorities are continuing their investigations into the drug network.
