Head of the Law Enforcement sub-directorate of Ditpolairud Polda Babel, AKBP Toni Sarjaka, said that the police managed to secure 10 miners at the location. “The 10 people are divided into two pontoons. The first pontoons we secure are Johan, Imam, Kosim and Dedi. Meanwhile, in the second pontoon, the miners who were secured were Adi Putra, Franky, Asmadi, Randa, and Supriyadin. AKBP Toni Sarjaka explained that the disclosure began when the personnel of the 2001 and 2007 Patrol Boats carried out an IT control activity for the Diving last Wednesday night. "This activity was carried out in following up on reports from the public regarding illegal mining activities in the Mengkubung Waters," said the Babel Police Intermediate Officer. The 2001 and 2007 Patrol Vessel personnel of the Ditpolairud departed from the Pangkalan Sandar Post at around 20.00 WIB. "Then at around 20.30 WIB, the members found ten men who were carrying out mining activities in the Mengkubung Waters," said the former Deputy Chief of the Nganjuk Police. He said police officers managed to secure evidence of two mining pontoon units and 40 kilograms of tin sand. The suspects violated Article 158 of Law No. 3 of 2020 regarding amendments to Law No. 4 of 2009 concerning Mineral and Coal.
