Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police revealed that dormant bank accounts targeted by suspects in the abduction and killing of a bank branch head contained up to Rp 70 billion (US$4.4 million).

“From what has been identified so far, the amount is quite high, around Rp 60 to Rp 70 billion,” said Metro Jaya Police Criminal Investigation Director Senior Superintendent Wira Satya Triputra on Tuesday (23/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

The accounts, he explained, were spread across several banks, not just the one where the victim, Muhammad Ilham Pradipta (37), worked. Police are investigating how suspect C, known as Ken, obtained confidential information on the dormant accounts, allegedly through an informant identified only as “S.”

The bank branch head was abducted and killed earlier this month in a scheme allegedly designed to divert dormant funds into accounts controlled by the perpetrators. Police have arrested 17 suspects divided into four groups: planners, kidnappers, assailants, and surveillance teams.

The search for “S” continues, though he has not yet been named a suspect.
