Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. Banten Regional Police Chief Inspector General Hengki inspected the ongoing fire containment efforts at the Jatiwaringin Landfill in Mauk District, Tangerang Regency, on Tuesday (7/7/2026). 

The fire, which broke out on 30 June 2026, has affected approximately 15 hectares of the 32-hectare facility, prompting a massive joint response from emergency services.

"Since the beginning of the incident, we immediately coordinated with local administrations," Chief Hengki said. "Out of 12 hotspots identified, praise be to God, 8 hotspots have been successfully extinguished."

Accompanied by Tangerang Regent Moch. Maesyal Rasyid and local officials, Chief Hengki confirmed that out of 12 identified hotspots, eight have been extinguished, while the remaining sectors are undergoing intensive cooling operations.

A fleet of 10 fire trucks, water-bombing helicopters, and heavy machinery has been deployed. The fire has forced 126 residents into shelters, while health officials report 334 cases of acute respiratory infections.
