inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is conducting data validation in collaboration with three ministries/agencies (K/L) for the distribution of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) in food-insecure areas.

The three ministries—the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Population and Family Development, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs—have more valid data through their field teams for more targeted MBG distribution.

Sony Sonjaya, Vice Head of BGN for Nutrition Fulfillment Operations, stated that the government continues to coordinate MBG distribution to focus on malnourished children during the First 1,000 Days of Life (HPK), as directed by President Prabowo Subianto.

"We have much more reliable data than we've been using. We received information from the Ministry of Health that if we were to focus on food-insecure areas, 81 regencies/cities have been designated as food-insecure," explained Sony on Thursday (4/23/2026).

He continued, explaining that if we focus on the poor, 273 districts/cities have been identified as being in poor areas, and 304 districts/cities have been recorded as having a high prevalence of stunting.

"We are using this data to ensure that the distribution of food can reach these 405 areas. We will map it carefully and inform all implementers in the field," he said.

Furthermore, Sony explained that in these 405 districts/cities, MBG distribution will prioritize food insecurity, the poor, and those with a high prevalence of stunting, including groups in regions identified as still malnourished.

The BGN, along with three related agencies, is also continuing to strengthen the capacity of data guardians throughout the region to ensure more accurate data presentation and more targeted MBG distribution.
