inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Population and Family Development, along with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, is involving universities in developing a population development roadmap through the formation of a national consortium.

The Ministry of Population and Family Development Secretary Budi Setiyono stated that this collaboration aims to accelerate the implementation of population programs in the regions.

"We invite universities to work together to develop an action plan that accelerates the implementation of population development goals," he said on Thursday (4/23/2026).

A total of 14 universities are involved in the Population-Aware Higher Education Consortium (PTPK), which will act as regional facilitators in the development and implementation of the Population Development Roadmap (PJPK).

In addition, the consortium will also evaluate program achievements and discuss strategic issues such as reproductive health, family planning, and family development.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Badri Munir Sukoco, assessed this collaboration as crucial for aligning higher education with the needs of industry and long-term development.

"So that what we produce through higher education will be relevant to industry needs and can also support the achievement of Advanced Indonesia 2045," he said.

He added that there is still a mismatch between university graduates and job market needs, necessitating adjustments to the education architecture based on population data.
