inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) confirmed that the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Sumatra disaster that occurred at the end of November 2025 is targeted to be completed within the next three years.

"Nationally, it was set some time ago that the target for the complete resolution of the Sumatra disaster was within three years," said BNPB Head Suharyanto, Wednesday (3/4/2026).

The BNPB Head stated that this was stipulated in the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Master Plan issued by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), whose data was locked as of February 9, 2026, and is listed in each ministry and agency.

Currently, some permanent housing for communities affected by flash floods and landslides has been built in several regencies and cities on a communal basis.

"The houses are mostly built by the Ministry of Housing and Settlements. There is also assistance from Buddha Tzu Chi and some from Danantara," he said.

Meanwhile, for in-situ housing, where people want permanent housing built on their own land, the BNPB will build it directly.

"For those who can show their land, we will build the house immediately," explained the Suharyanto

Furthermore, regarding disaster-affected residents whose homes suffered minor or moderate damage and have not yet received stimulus funds, he stated that they can reapply. The central government will then follow up on the assistance.

Specifically, in West Sumatra, stimulus funds totaling iDR 2.8 billion were distributed to 126 families as of Tuesday (March 3). Meanwhile, the government has disbursed IDr 205 billion for the three disaster-affected provinces.
