Inp.polri.go.id - Jambi.  The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and the Indonesian National Police (INP) Headquarters  have deployed five helicopters to support wildfire suppression efforts in Jambi.

“Five helicopters from BNPB and INP have been deployed to assist with air patrols and water bombing in response to the forest and land fires,” said Jambi Head of Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Bachyuni Deliansyah on Sunday (27/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The helicopters include two water bombers and two additional units from BNPB, while one helicopter from Polri is currently en route. All are stationed at Sultan Thaha Airport in Jambi for air patrol operations, especially in hard-to-reach fire zones.

Approximately 250 hectares of peatland have burned in Gambut Jaya Village, Sungai Gelam District, Muaro Jambi. Ground and aerial firefighting continues, involving Manggala Agni, the military, police, BPBD, and local volunteers.

Jambi Regional Police Chief Inspector Generall Krisno H. Siregar said an investigation is ongoing. Two suspects were previously arrested for alleged forest arson in Batanghari.
