Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) confirmed on Wednesday (10/12/2025) that the death toll from floods and landslides across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra has risen to 969, following updated data from provincial posts.
“The number of fatalities increased by five today, bringing the total from 964 to 969,” BNPB spokesperson Abdul Muhari said in a virtual press briefing as reported by antaranews.com
The latest victims include two people in Langkat, North Sumatra, and three in Padang Pariaman, West Sumatra. Meanwhile, the number of missing persons decreased from 264 to 252 after verification by three provincial posts.
BNPB also reported that the number of displaced residents reached 894,501, an increase of 500 from the previous day, mostly in North Sumatra. Search operations continue under strict safety protocols as joint teams work amid unstable weather conditions. The government ensures aid distribution remains uninterrupted at evacuation posts.
