inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) is planning a national action plan to prevent and address violent extremism leading to terrorism.
BNPT Head, Commissioner General Eddy Hartono, explained that this national action plan will focus on preventing and addressing children exposed to violent content in digital spaces within true crime community (TCC) groups.
"We held a meeting and have determined the next steps, and we at BNPT will develop this within the action plan, namely a national action plan for preventing and addressing extremism," said the BNPT Head on Wednesday (January 7, 2026).
He explained that this action plan aims to stop children from being exposed to terrorism in the early stages. This phase of terrorism begins with an understanding of extreme violence and gradually progresses to radicalism.
"If these children are not addressed, they will progress to extremism, then radicalism, and then terrorism," said the BNPT Head.
This national action plan has been submitted as a recommendation to the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg). The implementation of this national action will serve as an early detection measure within the context of psychosocial protection and assistance.
"Hopefully, the President will sign this year through a Presidential Regulation, which is currently under consideration by the State Secretariat," said the Head of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT).
