Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) and the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs blocked approximately 3,000 social media accounts, mainly on Facebook and Telegram, linked to radicalism in 2024.
"We monitor social media daily with the Ministry to prevent the spread of radical ideologies," said BNPT Chief Commissioner General Eddy Hartono, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Despite the absence of major terror incidents in the past three years, BNPT continues monitoring online activities to prevent radical propaganda. The agency collaborates with the Indonesian Military (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (INP), and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) to detect potential threats.
BNPT operates under Law No. 5 of 2018 on Counterterrorism, which mandates proactive measures against extremism.
