Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) Chief, Rycko Amelza Dahniel led the evaluation program of deradicalization in Nusakambangan Correctional Institution, Central Java as the program has been highlighted as important program by Indonesian President Joko Widodo. “For deradicalization program to terrorism inmates in here, this has become the focus of the President. We want to evaluate on how far this program can go and how big the impact is. We want to make sure that inmates would stay updated with how things going on outside the facility, and eventually able to adapt after finishing their sentence here,” says BNPT Chief quoted from Antara on Monday (11/13/2023). Dahniel also reviews the facility and infrastructure development by Correctional General Directorate of Human Rights and Law Ministry in Nusakambangan. He admits that he was blown away with the new five correctional facilities, as it was supported by the latest tech. He felt sure that this could further support the deradicalization program. “We came here to also review the establishment of five new correctional facilities built by Correctional General Directorate. These five new facilities supposedly would be inaugurated by the President once they were completed,” explains Dahniel. Moreover, Dahniel says that the deradicalization program will always involve ministry parties, and so far has shown positive results. BNPT will continue their evaluation for further improvement. “The deradicalization program has been running well. There are 16 ministries who have been collaborated with us, and together we have been giving our all. However, we can’t be satisfied yet as we will continue to evaluate for better results,” Dahniel said. (ad/ay/pr/nm)
