inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) affirmed the state's commitment to the rehabilitation of terrorism convicts.
This commitment is in line with Law Number 5 of 2018 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism and Law Number 22 of 2022 concerning Corrections.
"Our goal is for the state to be present to provide development covering national, religious, and entrepreneurial insights," said BNPT Chief Eddy Hartono, Monday (10/6/2025).
Therefore, he emphasized the commitment to collaboration between BNPT, the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police, and the Directorate General of Corrections, including related ministries/institutions, in strengthening the implementation of the deradicalization program.
Deradicalization is a systematic effort to neutralize and reverse the radical understanding and ideology of terrorism held by individuals or groups, with the aim of changing them to more moderate, tolerant thinking and abandoning violent actions for the sake of national security.
