inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) together with law enforcement officials (APH) further collaborates in the implementation of the new Criminal Code (KUHP) in 2026, through a coordination meeting.

BNPT's Director of Law Enforcement, Brigadier General Sigit Widodo, said the meeting was a strategic forum to align understanding and strengthen coordination in law enforcement against criminal acts of terrorism.

He emphasized BNPT's readiness to support law enforcement officials in implementing the new Criminal Code in the field, especially those related to criminal acts of terrorism.

"BNPT is always ready to help facilitate our law enforcement partners if they face any obstacles," Sigit emphasized, Tuesday (8/26/2025).

BNPT hopes that through this coordination, close collaboration between law enforcement agencies can further strengthen the effectiveness of counterterrorism.

With the preparation of law enforcement officials and a new, more comprehensive legal framework, Indonesia is expected to be able to maintain national security stability, protect the public, and narrow the space for radical ideology and acts of terrorism.

In the new Criminal Code, he stated that terrorism crimes are regulated in several articles that constitute the core criminal regulations for terrorism. However, these regulations do not necessarily revoke laws that specifically regulate terrorism and terrorism financing.
