inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police recorded that 351 people were arrested following the DPR protest on Tuesday (8/26/2025). Of these, 155 were adults, while the other 196 were children or students under 18 years old.

"The Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police Chief has appealed from the start that students should not join the protest. They were asked to go home, because the demonstration is not a place for students, but unfortunately the appeal was ignored," said the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi on Tuesday (8/26/2025).

Ade revealed that many students joined the demonstration because they were tempted by invitations via social media. In fact, they came from various areas in Jakarta and its surroundings without understanding the risks they would face.

The majority of them, he said, are suspected of being directly involved in the destruction of public facilities. From vandalized busway separators, oil-smeared fences around the House of Representatives (DPR), and pelted vehicles on the toll road with stones,

Several demonstrators also resisted the security forces by throwing objects at officers, which caused the ongoing public security disruption at that moment.

Nevertheless, the 196 minors have been returned to their parents.

"They've been sent home," assured Ade Ary.
