inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police has arrested the alleged perpetrator of the bombing threat at Srengseng Sawah 15 Public Elementary School in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on Monday (7/13/2026), identified as MY.

"The terror attack, involving one perpetrator with the initials MY, has been apprehended, and his address is near the school," said the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto.

However, Budi stated that the investigation team is still working to determine the motive behind the threat.

"Investigators are still investigating the perpetrator's goals and motives," he said.

Previously, the police had identified the alleged perpetrator of the bombing at Srengseng Sawah 15 Public Elementary School in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on Monday (7/13/2026). He sent WhatsApp messages to teachers and administrative staff.

"We already have his identity. So we've searched for him and we'll definitely follow up on the perpetrator, who is suspected of carrying out the terror attack himself," Jagakarsa Sector Police Chief, Police Assistant Superintendent Nurma Dewi, told reporters in Jakarta on Monday (7/13/2026).

Nurma said that in the WhatsApp message, the attacker had planted bombs at 11 locations within the school.

Teachers immediately contacted the police to secure the school, which was holding the first day of the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS).

To date, her team has confirmed that they have not found any suspicious objects during the two-hour-long search.
