Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Head of Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP2MI) Benny Rhamdani says a that state continuous present and fight the illegal Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) recruitment syndicate is a must.
“A country must not fail, must not bow down against criminals and syndicates. A country must be present and ensures PMI is working legally,” says BP2MI Chief quoted from Antara on Thursday (11/13/2023).
He says an effective preventive measures and law enforcement is the key to anticipate illegal smuggling of PMI. On the other hand, massive dissemination must also be carried out down to the lowest level.
He says not few PMIs went illegally met with various issues such as physical abuse, unilateral termination of employment relations, even being sold from one employer to another.
“This has become the fact, a note for us, that our country is not free from this illegal practice and we have to fight against it,” calls Benny.
