inp.polri.go.id - Bekasi. In accelerating the free halal certification program for Micro and Small Enterprises (UMK). The Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH) will cooperate with all regional governments throughout Indonesia.

Head of BPJPH, Ahmad Haikal Hasan, said that BPJPH will cooperate with the Ministry of Home Affairs as the ministry that oversees regional governments for cities, districts and provinces.

"We are working with the Ministry of Home Affairs in this matter and they welcome this collaboration," he said on Sunday (11/24/2024).

He said that in the process, regional heads, both regents, mayors and governors will be actively involved. They will be at the forefront of guarding business actors to obtain halal certificates.

He also added that halal certification is very important, especially for small business actors, because currently there are many foreign products that have flooded the market in Indonesia with halal labels.

"Regional heads, governors, will be involved in overseeing, guarding MSMEs to obtain halal certificates so that they could withstand the onslaught of foreign goods entering with halal labels," he said.

Furthermore, he said that his party also continues to intensify the free halal certification program for MSME actors which in 2025 targets 1.2 million free halal certificates.

"For 2023 and 2024 we have issued 1 million free halal certificates. In 2025 we are targeting 1.2 million free halal certificates," he concluded.
