inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government has confirmed that victims of the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, can exercise their right to vote in the 2024 regional elections.

Vice Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto said the government has prepared polling stations (TPS) in evacuation sites for residents affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki.

"There are 37 TPS located around the affected locations, and 22 of them have been prepared in evacuation sites," said Bima Arya on Monday (11/25/2024).

The local government will facilitate 2,496 eruption victims from East Flores Regency who have taken refuge in the Sikka Regency area to exercise their voting rights at polling stations established on the border of the two regencies.

He stated that the government is making maximum efforts to ensure that all citizens affected by the disaster can exercise their right to vote in the regional head elections.

The 2024 simultaneous regional elections will be held on 27th November. The Vice Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya encouraged all citizens, including victims of the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki, to participate in the regional elections.
