BPS Data Shows Shallot’s Price Increase in the First Week of October

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Statistic Center Agency (BPS) says the shallot’s price in the first week of October with the average national price of IDR 29,893 per kilogram.

“The price of shallot in the first week of October is increasing. Going up, up to 5.5 percent compared to September,” says the BPS Deputy of Distribution and Service, Pudji Ismartini on Wednesday (10/9/2024).
 
Referencing the data, Pudji notes that the price is higher than that of the fourth week of September, which was standing at IDR 28,213 per kilogram.
 
This price increase is also in line with the increasing number of regions experiencing it. According to the previous week of BPS data, there were 182 regions experiencing shallot’s price increase, and entering the first week of October it increased to 247 districts and cities.

In light of this situation, she further said that the effort of controlling the price of shallots must continue to be done, to ensure the price is good and fair for farmers and the community.
