Inp.polri.go.id - Mataram.   A joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team located Brazilian hiker who fell on into a ravine near Cemara Nunggal on Mount Rinjani, West Nusa Tenggara.

The female hiker, identified as Juliana Marins (27), was found 500 meters from the fall point using thermal drone imaging.

“The team located the victim around 7.05 am local time with drone visuals. She appeared motionless,” said Mataram SAR Chief Muhamad Hariyadi on Tuesday (24/6/2025).

Juliana fell during a summit hike on Saturday. Rescue efforts are hindered by steep terrain and heavy fog, with the ravine estimated at 400–500 meters deep. Authorities are considering a helicopter airlift with support from PT Amman Mineral.

West Nusa Tenggara Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal emphasized urgency, noting the survival window in such conditions is 72 hours.

“No matter what, she must be rescued immediately,” he urged in a virtual meeting Monday.
