Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. The Tangerang Immigration Office detained a British national, identified as DH, on Wednesday (15/4/2026) following a violent disturbance at a cat boarding facility in Ciputat, South Jakarta.
The suspect allegedly harassed staff, refused to pay service fees, and threatened local residents with a sharp weapon during the outburst. Authorities confirmed that the individual is also being investigated for a significant immigration violation, having overstayed his tourist visa by 174 days since October 2025.
"He is currently held in our detention center to prevent further incidents while we coordinate with the British Embassy regarding his case," said Hasanin, the Head of the Tangerang Immigration Office, as cited by antaranews.com.
Further medical examinations at Dr. Soeharto Heerdjan Psychiatric Hospital revealed that the suspect suffers from delusions and hallucinations, complicating the interrogation process. DH faces administrative action, including deportation and a permanent entry ban, for violating the Immigration Law.
