inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid revealed that the restoration of Base Transceiver Station (BTS) connectivity infrastructure in the disaster-affected areas of Aceh has reached 95 percent.
"Connectivity in Aceh is now at 95 percent for all operators and operating with fairly high uptime. We hope this helps residents stay connected," said the Minister on Monday (1/5/2025).
According to Meutya, of the total 3,208 BTS in Aceh, seven are still under repair. Meanwhile, according to data from each operator, Telkomsel has restored 95.92 percent of its BTS in Aceh, Indosat 96.72 percent, and XL Smart 95.28 percent.
"So, generally speaking, we can say that the BTS-based infrastructure and communications in Aceh have been fully restored," said the Minister.
She said the restoration of these BTS is crucial so people can stay connected with their families and access emergency information. However, not all restored BTSs can immediately operate as they still depend on stable electricity supply or generator support.
Telkomsel President Director Nugroho reported that currently, around 67 BTSs are still relying on generators.
"Currently, around 67 BTSs are still using generators in Aceh. In North Sumatra and West Sumatra, most of them are supplied by PLN," he added.
