inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) confirmed that a Pelita Air cargo plane, AT-802 PK, crashed in Nunukan, North Kalimantan. A joint team is currently heading to the scene to conduct a rescue operation.
"Yes, it's true, (the plane crashed) in the Gunung Pa' Ramayo area, Pa'Bettung Village, East Krayan District, Nunukan Regency," said Inspector General Jhonny Edison Isir, Head of INP Public Relations Division, Thursday (2/19/2026).
According to Jhonny, the plane was a cargo plane. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether there were any fatalities in the crash.
"The safety of the crew is still being investigated by rescue personnel on the ground," said Jhonny.
Jhonny further emphasized that rescue efforts are being carried out in conjunction with relevant authorities and other relevant agencies. Jhonny hopes that all crew members on board are safe.
"However, we all pray that the crew are safe and that there are no fatalities," he explained.
