inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. During the security of New Year’s Eve in the National Monument (Monas), the Animal Police Directorate attracts public attention with their cavalry.
The police official Second Police Inspector Wahyu Jati Purnawan explains that the cavalry aims to ensure that the security remains conducive and able to provide a sense of security to the people.
"The presence of these police cavalry is not only for security, but also as a preventative measure and a humane approach to the public, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable while celebrating New Year's Eve at Monas," said Wahyu.
The public's enthusiasm was evident as the mounted police passed by. Many visitors, including children, greeted the officers and took the opportunity to take photos with them. Many parents brought their children to interact directly with the police horses.
The cavalry also actively reminded the public to maintain order, watch over the children, and be careful with personal belongings.
"We also reminded the public to always be vigilant, look after their children, and work together to maintain a safe situation for this joyful night," added Wahyu.
The presence of the mounted police was deemed effective not only as a security measure but also as a form of public service that brought the police closer to the community.
